Sheffield is my Planet asks people to look at their own life and make promises to take action to prevent destructive climate change. Of course such individual actions aren't going solve things overnight, but they're trying… There is advice and news of other eco-initiatives in Sheffield.
The Wildlife Trust is the largest environmental charity in Sheffield and Rotherham, working to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the local area. we worked together during our East Peak Villages of Poetry project in 2010.
The Blue Loop Project works to promote the use of the Blue Loop, which is a continuous loop of waterways and riverside walkways in the heart of Sheffield, made up of The River Don and Tinsley Canal. It travels for 8 miles from the city centre and flows close by the communities of Burngreave, Attercliffe, Darnall and Tinsley.
The Steel Valley Project has been in existence since 1988. It undertakes a very wide range of landscape and green space enhancement projects within Stocksbridge and surrounding areas of the city. Access Space is the UK’s first ‘Free media lab’ – a community space equipped with locally recycled computers running free, open source software. Places for People is one of the largest property management, development and regeneration companies in the UK. They manage sheltered housing schemes at Sunnybank and Bowfield Court. We worked with them as as part of our Broomhall visual Improvement Project in 2010.

South Yorkshire Housing Association is a charitable not-for-profit organisation managing nearly 6,000 homes across the city.
Zest is a community development trust working to promote regeneration in the Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe and Langsett areas of Sheffield. They offer numerous services around health and well-being including; training, employment, activities for young people and are housed in a centre with an emphasis on improving health and quality of life. Zest have strong links with Art in the Park.
ESCAL is the City Wide Literacy Strategy ensuring that ‘Every Sheffield Child is Articulate and Literate by the age of 11’ ESCAL acts as an umbrella for a range of services, projects, initiatives and strategies already being delivered to parents and young children across the city.

We have worked as part of the Sheffield Children’s Festival for two years now. They have a wonderful program of events for everyone under the age of 18 in Sheffield every summer.
Sheffield Doc/Fest brings the international documentary family together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making for five intense days in November.
