Art in the Park provide creative environmental workshops, events and activities for schools, children’s centres and community groups in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. Read on for further detail on our services.

What do we do?

Sessions can be as long or as short as suits your needs. We provide all materials, professional artists to run the project and often one or more of our volunteers to support the artist. We are happy working with a wide variety of groups, including children, young people, adults, schools, groups with special needs, mental health issues and language barriers.

Recent projects we have completed

Write Down Your Street

As part Off the Shelf reading and writing festival, we provided a series of community creative writing workshops to encourage people to tell stories about where they live and develop new writing skills. A book was produced which was launched at a final celebration event.

Broomhall Visual Improvement Project

This was started Autumn 2010, the project included a range of community workshops to help create permantant banners, noticeboards and street furniture for the Broomhall area.

East Peaks Villages of Poetry

This project is based in Stannington, Penistone and Denby Dale. Here we provided a series of poetry classes within shcools to encourage children to think about their local areas and express their thoughts. We also provided a course of adult art classes, which are due to take place again in August 2011.

Sheffield Children's Festival 2011

Sheffield Children's Festival commissioned Art in the Park’s Thomas Richards to create The Cube: a freestanding, flat pack exhibition space. If you or your group is interested in hiring it please contact Lu on 01142686813 or “luisa@artinthepark.org.uk” We also have a green screen people can hire.

Follow the links below for examples of some of the speciality work we have already undertaken or have a look at our past events to see the vast range of activities we have put on over our five year history.

We have also recently become an official Arts Award centre. We can now facilitate the Bronze and Silver Arts Awards with young people aged 11-25.

How much will we charge?
