Artist Pool
Art in the Park (Sheffield) is a community organisation delivering open
access community arts events in and around green spaces in Sheffield.
Have a look round our website for more details!
We rely on a team of committed, skilled volunteers, paid staff and professional artists to deliver our high
quality arts activities. We are currently looking for more artists to
join our organisation in 2010/11.
We particularly encourage applications from film makers and video
artists, artists with experience of producing permanent works and
sculptors. However, we are keen to see a range of applicants from
diverse disciplines.
What we want:
- A diverse range of artists
To continue to develop our creative community and provide
development and networking opportunities for our artists
- To continue to expand our capacity in terms of the projects we
deliver.
What we can offer:
- Development and training opportunities
- Quarterly networking events; bringing our volunteers, partners and
artistsŐ pool together to share skills and find out about current and
future projects.
- Work opportunities- projects that come up between June 2010 and May
2011 will be offered to suitable artists within the artistŐs pool.
Planned Projects: these projects will be delivered by artists selected
from the Artists Pool (and supported by volunteers)
Villages of Poetry Project (Stannington, Denby Dale and Penistone
Project), weekly open access adult art classes (2hrs) and a large open
access arts event in each area, in a local green space (3hrs)
Artist and Volunteer Development- mentoring opportunities between 3
professional and developing artists, which will include a set weekly
programme (5hrs).
Sheffield Arts Walks- we will look to hold around four a year, in
partnership with established walking groups. We will also produce a
booklet with dates of walks coming up and routes of walks people can do
at their leisure.
Applications must be received by 5pm on Monday 26th July 2010.
Interviews will take place week beginning the 2nd August.
