June 20th Langsett Green
Wet, wet, wet! A plucky band of volunteers set up a gazebo. We started to get the art stuff out and spotted rain approaching from the North.
"Oh" remarked one of the Rangers, "I was feeling homesick for the Lake District today, but this weather and that view reminds me of it just nicely!"
"Hmmm" Replied one of the volunteers, "We could do without an afternoon of Cumbrian Rain if we're going to do art in this here park today..."
And so with rain falling all about the huddle grew inside the gazebo until one-by-one we made breaks out into the rain to do art. The first foray was to chalk (as were the next several). Then we started to get more adventurous and made crop circles in the long grass. As the rain started to abate more passers by dropped into the gazebo for a chat and a cuppa and some lovely pizza, most of them did some art as well. By the time we packed up we'd had a steady trickle, both of water down our necks and visitors through the event! I hope we can book better weather for the next ones...
