Art in the Park at Ruskin Park Fun Day was a great success despite the rather grey weather. Our bright pink sculptural extension to the outer fence of the swings certainly added some colour. Kids nearby helped tie the hoops to the railings and add the pink fabric to make a tunnel, however it was the outside rather than the inside that attracted most attention.
The long shape became a blank canvas to draw on where people enjoyed the freedom to make marks with felt pens on a large scale. Back near the gazebo hatmaking and painting were carried out with tremendous enthusiasm. Colour, texture and shape were all being enjoyed by all kinds of people all together. Later in the day some extra hoops were used for juggling which looked beautiful, breaking the line of the trees. We cleared up feeling very satisfied and looking forward to the next Art in the Park.
