Despite the extremely blustery wind, there was a great turnout for Langsett Funday, which was raising money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. A number of local groups were running stalls, including DJ-ing with Sheffield Futures and a Sheffield Homes competition. There was also a disco bus, bouncy castle and ice-cream van. All these activities contributed to a definite party atmosphere, which made sure our dinosaur mask-making went down a treat!
Some people made 3D dinosaur masks and hats using side panels stapled together at the front. Other, young children preferred to use the traditional front-view mask technique. We used a variety of materials to decorate the finished masks, including glitter, tissue paper and felt tip pens. By the end of the day several little monsters were terrorising adults around the park with their ferocious masks and roars!
