May the 16th was a day that greeted us with beautiful weather- the sun was shining and the sky was a welcoming blue. Setting up the gazebo and putting up signs was a pleasure, the natural beauty of the Ponderosa providing a real sense of optimism. I felt it was a real pleasure just to spend time surrounded by so many different shades of green.
As the day unfolded we realised just what a success it was turning out to be. We soon had large numbers of people happily painting, chalking the paths and making wonderful instruments. Everywhere you turned there was something going on. I couldn't help but feel that this was my favourite Art in the Park, simply because there was such a sense of creative energy. At the end of the day I was tired and hot but thoroughly pleased that so many people had been able to take a little time in their day to stop and appreciate the amazing place the Ponderosa is, and that so many people had been able to express themselves in colours and forms.
