Rivelin Valley Christmas Festival, December 2007
On Sunday 16th December Art in the Park headed to Rivelin Valley Park to join a host of other seasonal activities being run by local organisations. Despite it being a cold, wintry day, the park was full of families enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Those who braved the elements helped to add some Christmas sparkle to the park, bringing the ideas of artist Kerry Bertram to life. Participants wove ribbon, lace and yarn around cane frames to produce a huge variety of colourful woven snowflakes. In addition, children and parents alike enjoyed using recycled plastic, beads, glitter and pipe cleaners to make icicles. The decorations were then displayed in the surrounding Christmas trees for everyone to enjoy and by the end of the day, the park had been transformed into a winter wonderland!
