September 19th Langsett Green
This was our third attempt at organising an 'Art in the Park' in this particular greenspace. The previous two events had been hampered by bad weather, but on the morning of the 19th the day dawned bright and clear and it looked set for an afternoon of fun.
The Langsett Green is neither named nor marked as a green space on maps, so communicating the exact location was a problem, but several local children turned out to take part in activities which included painting, chalking and photography as usual, along with a giant panorama of a futuristic version of the Hillsborough, Loxley and Rivelin valleys. Being inspired by the long grass on the Green, we made a giraffe out of chicken wire, coated in modelling plaster... Quite an ambitious project and a rather wonky giraffe resulted
