Lower Stannington Community Forum ran its first community event on the 10th April. Art in the Park added some creative fun and helped make the day a great success.
We created a land sculpture based on the day, people made paintings of all the
activities happening on the site such as football, a climbing wall, stalls and
games. We also took Polaroid photos, collected found objects and make weavings n frames.
We then used all of these things to make a large spiral sculpture laid out on
the ground. We linked all the work together by weaving in sticks, threads and
found objects. A really interesting, varied range of art was produced and it
looked fantastic all together in the sculpture. The weather was good and there
was fantastic turn out of participants for a first event at this site
